Pop art used to be a fine art style originally, which got the most popular in the USA. It’s characterised by the bold use of materials and colours, it matches up different shapes in a brave way. It creates a space free of conventions. It’s easy to go too far, so to prevent this, we should choose a couple of sleek, neutral objects to counterbalance the colourful bubbles and posters. The usual colours are pink, cream, yellow, orange and red. By using the style elements we can create a cheerful, dynamic space. Using the style for the whole home is not practical, but we can get some ideas for designing one or two rooms. Iconic pieces of the style are the chairs by Verner Panton.
